March 14 th, 2011 : McCutchin won the January Swiss by beating out Williams but Williams returned the favor by beating out McCutchin to win the Feburary Swiss. Strong showing of 32 players in the Club Championship with NM Williams playing!

March 13th, 2011 : Recap of the 2010 season! Williams won the late Summer Swiss. Hendrickson won the Fall swiss with wins over Harder and McCutchin.
McCutchin wins Winter Swiss by beating out Murphy & Jayne. Most improved player was Brennan Harder gaining 231 Elo points over the 2010 season!

June 29th, 2010 : This past spring both Brady Harder and Robert Murphy are co-op champs of the 2010 Waukesha Chess Club Championship. Both Harder and Murphy gave out simals on June 23rd at the WCC. Jerry Zhou won the 2010 spring quick, also Bill Williams and Clark McCutchin won the 2010 spring action.

October 31st, 2009: Happy Halloween from WCC!
On November 4th, the club will begin its 2009 Fall Quad. As the title indicates, this will be a sectional tournament, with 4 players per section. It will be a double round robin with a time control of game in 90 minutes. The tournament will run through the end of 2009, including two weeks for make up games.

October 30th, 2009: Brady Harder Wins the Fall Quick tournament with a perfect score of 4! Beating Bill Williams in the last round. Also Troy Zimmermann scored 3 out of 4 with draws against Tim Burton and Joe Hetzel. Tim burton got 3.5 out of 4 with a draw against Troy Zimmermann. Total of 23 players played in the tournament.

The Waukesha Chess Club held its annual Ernests Rozkalns Memorial Speed Tournament on October 28. This was a 5-minute, double round-robin event, in two sections.

Bill Williams came in first in one section, with Yuri Itskovich second. Yogi Lilly won the other section; Russ Montney was second. Then, the section winners met in a playof of two games to determine the overall winner. The score in the playoff was Bill Williams 2, Yogi Lilly 0.

 

September 20th, 2009:Congrats to both Coons and Zimmermann on winning the 2009 WCC Early Fall Action tournamnet! Total of 22 players played in the tournament including Master Williams. If anyone has any games they would like to share, please feel free to do so.

Their were two big upsets, one was by Troy Zimmermann against Garvin. Also James Coons won against Master Williams. Coons and Zimmermann played in the last round with a result of a draw!

 

September 2nd, 2009: The 2009 WCC Champion Clark Mccutchin, a chess expert, gave out a simal at the waukesha chess club. Clark had to play 20 other players from the chess club and it was a strong group to play against. Clark came out with a great score of 13wins 5losses and 2draws. Congrats to Clark Mccutchin on a great simal!
